Ocean Seminar Research

In this inquiry seminar, we explored the most fascinating environments of our planet: oceans. From the 30,000-feet depths of the Mariana Trench to the 1,000-feet heights of tsunami waves, oceans cover vast vertical dimensions and over 70% of the earth’s surface. The seminar goes through an overview of oceanic history,  focusing on the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Indian, and the Pacific Oceans.

My Research

Ocean acidification’s impact on Atlantic Sea Turtles from 1990s to 2021

This was a challenging paper because I had to dig into evidence to form connection between the two. Usually we hear about how pollution in the ocean or coral reef leeching impact the lives of sea turtle. But as I research with the help of my advisor, librarian, and the library itself, I was able to build the connection between the two. That then helped me write the paper about how ocean acidification plays a role in impacting the lives of sea turtles.

In general I love all of the sea animals out there and in the near future I hope to write more about them, especially in connection with the ocean history.
